Recording Studios and COVID-19

This is a difficult time for everyone right now, and especially in our industry. Minimum distance guidelines are absolutely necessary to the health and well-being of all in our community. Right now, for example, we are not allowing full bands or groups studio access.

We are only allowing individual overdub sessions with no more than two people, each in different rooms

Obviously, we are mixing and mastering with minimal staff at usual capacity, as those require no outside personnel and all of the employees have minimized their contact with the outside world as much as possible.

Below are some of the additional steps we are taking at Stone Creek Sound, while we are running at minimum capacity.

1.) Disinfecting common surfaces at least hourly. We are using Lysol and other disinfectants on doorknobs, surfaces, keyboards, mice and chair and console armrests.

2.) Immediately after each session, microphones are wiped down with disinfectant, pop screens and shields are removed and sprayed down liberally outside and allowed to dry in direct sunlight (UV). We also are rotating our vocal mic collection out on a daily basis just to be sure.

3.) Music stands, headphone stations and headphones are also disinfected and swapped out daily as an extra precaution.

4.) Disinfectant grade pump soaps in the bathroom and only disposable paper products for hand drying.

5.) When we need to have lengthy discussions that can't happen over talkback or require casual conversation, we take it out on our 40' covered porch where we can all maintain proper distance and get fresh air. Obviously, being able to visit is important, and having 2.5 acres to walk around and talk without getting in each other's spaces is important part of the vibe at Stone Creek Sound.

As previously mentioned, we are operating at an absolute minimal capacity to ensure safety, while allowing our clients to get the materials they need completed and keep projects from completely stalling during this difficult time.

We hope everyone stays safe, and we wish our clients and friends creative inspiration during this difficult time.
